New Hair!

Before I went in for my hair appointment today, I asked you guys on Twitter which hair color you thought I should get:

Most of you suggested I go with the darker shade, but I actually ended up getting a mixture of the two.

Still lots of blonde, but the base color is reddish brown

Excuse the wispy bangs...

I also had a shine treatment done!

I still plan to go totally auburn/brown in the fall, but for now I'm liking the pieces of blonde peeking through. What do you guys think?

Did I make a good choice?

Blondes Have More Fun!

So I've been "blonde" since the beginning of February, but I keep forgetting to blog about it. I just got it touched up last week and I made sure to take some pictures for you guys! My stylist Julie Ann (from Cutting Loose salon) is AMAZING! I'll never waste my time/money going to anyone else ever again. If you live in the Sarasota area, you should definitely go see her.

No one has ever been able to take my hair anywhere near blonde before. It usually ends up some sort of reddish tone or they'll give me white blonde highlights on my black hair (yuck!), but Julie Ann has no problem giving a girl what she wants. She even successfully died the entire underside of my black hair Barbie blonde a few years back when I was going for that whole "two different looks" thing.

I'm gonna dye it black when Fall/Winter rolls around, but for now I'm having fun being as blonde as humanly possible for an Italian girl! I love playing around with different makeup shades and colors of clothing to see what looks best with my new hue!

On with the pictures!

(My natural hair color. Dark brown & pretty boring.)

(Started to go lighter in Summer 2009...)

(Officially a blonde in February 2010!)

(Right after my touch-up highlights last week.)

Do you go lighter in the Summer & darker in the Winter too?

Hair Inspiration

Image is clickable!

I've been "dye-ing" to go lighter for a long time & it's finally time to just do it!

I've been getting caramel/blonde highlights for the last two years, but I'm ready for something a little more dramatic. I've always been apprehensive about coloring my hair any shade other than black, so I'm trusting in my hair stylist to take me into the land of blonde! She successfully dyed the underside of my hair bleach blonde about three years ago and she's never failed me before so I have faith that she can turn my mane into buttery perfection!

Above is my celebrity hair inspiration page I'm bringing in for reference next month.

Wish me luck!

Help Me Choose: Clarifying Shampoo

I need some help girls. I'm on the hunt for a miracle-working clarifying shampoo. My scalp feels like it's trapped under a layer of angry buildup! My hair gets greasy soooo fast after I wash/style it and I need something to get all the excess gunk out so I can start fresh again. I don't really use any styling products, but I still seem to have problems in this department. HELP!!!

So far, I've only found 2 highly recommended options. The first comes from the uber-beautiful Zoe. She recently blogged about the Expert Build Up Removal Shampoo from Boots (£2.93) and had fantastic results. She has amazing hair, so I would buy anything she told me to! Only problem? It's a UK-only exclusive, so I'll have to find something available stateside.

Which brings me to my second [and only realistic] option, Frederic Fekkai's Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo ($23). It got rave reviews on Sephora.com, but it's a little pricey. I wouldn't mind paying for it if it solved all of my hair nightmares, but I don't know for sure if it will work.

Any other suggestions/advice???
