Nail Inspiration

I came across the picture below on Tumblr a while back & I haven't been able to get this blue hued nail polish out of my head ever since!

Blue Is The New Black!

I thought I had found it in Milani's Neon "Dude Blue", but it was lacking the electric violet undertones I was searching for.

Looks similar, right? It's actually more of a blue highlighter color.

Then I stumbled upon J's blog, Talk Pretty To Me, a couple of weeks ago & spotted my coveted color on her nails! She happily informed me that it was Sephora's "Myrtille" (#23) from their SEPHORA COLLECTION line. It's $5 for a .16 fl oz bottle and you'll never find another shade quite like it. It's just gorgeous!

With flash.

In sunlight.

Call me crazy, but I can definitely see the color difference in person. Trust me on this, if you're looking for a wearable blue for summer, go buy this one!

I found the Hidden Treasure!

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I've been searching for a particular nail polish for a few weeks now. It's the hard to find, limited edition Hidden Treasure from Sally Hansen. It's part of their Spring 2010 collaboration with fashion designer Tracy Reese and it's chock full of gorgeous holographic flakes that instantly enhance the color of whichever polish you layer it over!

Well, I took a chance and popped into a nearby Walgreens today and low and behold, I found 2 of them! I'm giving one of them away on my YouTube channel this month so head on over there and enter to win!

**Here's some quick swatches I took to show you what this polish can do. I'm wearing it over Sally Hansen's Midnight In NY. Please excuse my dry cuticles...

In artificial light.
In sunlight.
See the holographic-y goodness??

Nail Inspiration

I happened to catch a bit of the Real World D.C. reunion show last week and fell in love with cast mate Callie's neon green nails!

After a few days of searching, I found a perfect dupe at CVS:

Milani NEON Totally 80s

I added some white stars using my Essence nail stamping kit.

Would you rock neon nails??

Butter London Nail Polishes 50% OFF!

Hautelook is at it again! This time they're bringing you high-quality, non-toxic nail polishes from UK's butter LONDON at 50% off retail!

As always, to shop Hautelook's website you need an invitation. Don't have one yet? No worries!

Just click here to start shopping!

What is butter LONDON?

butter LONDON is a new concept in natural nail care. We believe in Great Britain, Fashion and Rock and Roll.

butter LONDON was founded in 2005 by Londoner, Sasha Muir. On moving to the United States from the UK, she saw a gap in the market for a new brand of hand and nail care that combined high fashion and health. As such, she designed a new type of nail salon experience, new service protocols that eliminated the need for the use of water during services, and was the first to bring “3 Free” nail lacquers to market in the USA. “3 Free” means No Formaldehyde, No toluene, and No DBP (Phthales), the three ‘chemical nasties’.

Trend Forecast

I've been noticing a few trends for fall lately and I've also done a little research on what will officially be in style for the upcoming season. Here's the scoop:

1. Biker Chic (Add some edge to your wardrobe with black leather, metallics and chain detailing.)

2. Suede Pumps & Booties (I'm still not a fan of booties on everyone, but they're definitely not going anywhere soon.)

3. Prep School Style (Think plaid, blazers & uniform separates.)

4. Matte Nail Polish (I suggest investing in an inexpensive bottle of Essie's Matte About You and transforming the polishes you already have.)
