Help Me Choose: Clarifying Shampoo

I need some help girls. I'm on the hunt for a miracle-working clarifying shampoo. My scalp feels like it's trapped under a layer of angry buildup! My hair gets greasy soooo fast after I wash/style it and I need something to get all the excess gunk out so I can start fresh again. I don't really use any styling products, but I still seem to have problems in this department. HELP!!!

So far, I've only found 2 highly recommended options. The first comes from the uber-beautiful Zoe. She recently blogged about the Expert Build Up Removal Shampoo from Boots (£2.93) and had fantastic results. She has amazing hair, so I would buy anything she told me to! Only problem? It's a UK-only exclusive, so I'll have to find something available stateside.

Which brings me to my second [and only realistic] option, Frederic Fekkai's Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo ($23). It got rave reviews on Sephora.com, but it's a little pricey. I wouldn't mind paying for it if it solved all of my hair nightmares, but I don't know for sure if it will work.

Any other suggestions/advice???

I have the same problem, I read about it on Zoe's blog too. It only turns up in my hair once a year or so, but it feels like i have put gel in my roots as soon as I get out of the shower. It's very upsetting, it makes me feel gross. Anyway I wonder if you can get PPS products? I bought the anti-build up shampoo and it worked perfectly! I was so happy and relieved. It's an australian brand so I'm not sure if you can get hold of it. But try going into a shampoo specialty store and they will reccomend something! Hope this helps.
Melissa,
xx.

I use Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo once a week to get rid of the build up--you could look into that (at least it's another option)

Audrey - I hadn't heard of that one yet, thanks so much!

this might sound silly but my bf has a bottle of head & shoulders in the shower and every now and then I use it and my hair feels absolutely clean and my scalp gets a clean tingle after using it, so you could maybe try using it once a week -fortnight?

I would just buy the cheap stuff. Suave clarifying shampoo is less than 2 bucks, so it's worth a try.
